Obtaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing
I have started working towards my masters degree in nursing in September 2011 and hope to have completed by july 2012. I am doing this course in the National University of Ireland, Galway. Throughout this degree I have been building on knowledge previously learnt while doing my undergraduate in nursing.
Throughout my undergraduate and now my masters I have learnt what a complex profession nursing is. It combines many subjects others may not realize before participating in the profession such as psychology, sociology and social policy.
One of the aspects of this course which I enjoy the most is that it enables me to tailor what I learn to suit my interests and the environment I wish to work in.
By the time I have completed my masters degree I hope to have increased my critical thinking in all aspects of healthcare issues. I also hope to have gained a qualification which will enable me to work internationally.
